Why We Started Ohana
Patrick Eads spent 30 years working the plumbing trade before starting Ohana Plumbing & Home Repair in 2018. He relocated to North Carolina, saw what the local market was missing — a contractor who could handle plumbing and home repair without handing the job off — and built the company to fill that gap.
The name Ohana comes from the Hawaiian word for family. It's not a brand choice made in a marketing meeting. It reflects how we run the business: repeat clients who call us first, referrals from neighbors, and relationships that outlast any single job.
Two Licenses. One Company. No Handoffs.
Most plumbers are licensed to do plumbing. Most contractors are licensed to handle construction and repair. Ohana holds both — a plumbing tradesman license and a general contractor's license — which means we can take a job from the pipe to the finished wall without bringing in a second company.
We're based in North Carolina and hold a Virginia contractor license (#2710069496) for work on the Virginia side of the state line. We're fully insured in both states.

We're based in Barco and serve the full Currituck County area — Moyock, Grandy, and the surrounding communities. We also work regularly across the Outer Banks barrier islands, from Corolla down through Hampton Roads, Duck, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, and Nags Head.
Coastal work has its own demands: salt-air corrosion, seasonal vacancy, plumbing systems that sit dormant through the off-season and need to perform when owners return. We know these properties. We know what fails and why.
